Stepping Stones in Life Therapy Service is a private multi-disciplinary therapy centre with its main office located in Millner (Darwin), and the second office open in Katherine, so we can service the entire Northern Territory area.
We provide services to children aged 0-12 years, adolescents aged 13-17, adults 18+, couples and families. We have specialists on our team that work solely with children/adults with special needs (for example; autism, sensory integration disorders, Dyspraxia, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injuries, visual impairment, strokes), so you are sure to find someone who can accommodate your family’s unique needs.
We provide services in Darwin, Katherine, Jabiru, Bathurst Island, Maningrida, Tennant Creek and Gove, as well as rural and remote areas throughout the Northern Territory (on demand).
Our staff uses the latest in advanced therapeutic techniques and equipment to help improve the health and well-being of children and families. Our models of therapy are evidence-based. This means that there is research existing for each model proving they are highly effective treatment models, so you can rest assured that you are getting the very best care available.
To ease access to our services, we accept payment through the following funding: DSS Helping Children with Autism, DSS Better Start, NDIS.
Our service are covered by Health Insurance Providers, and we are registered with Medicare to grant you access to Enhanced Primary Care, Focused Psychological Strategies, Autism Initiatives, and Mental Health Care Plans. Our Tyro EFTPOS machine enables you to claim rebates on the spot from both your private health and Medicare. To access rebates from Medicare you do require a referral and care plan to be written by your local GP.
Parents interested in attending workshops and parenting courses can access these free of charge with a referral under the ATAPS funding from your G.P.
